Responding to Children with Childhood Trauma

MATA would like to invite you to our upcoming event!

Kathy Simones, MA, ATR-BC, LCPC 

will be presenting on 

"Responding to Children with Childhood Trauma

St. Louis Children's Hospital 

February 12th, 2017 

1:00 PM  to 4:00 PM 

The presentation will be geared toward art therapists and other professionals (teachers, counselors, social workers, child life specialists, etc.) who would like to increase their knowledge and skills in regard to recognizing and responding to children who have experienced trauma.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and park in the main garage across from the hospital, as vouchers will be provided for free parking.

MATA Swap Meet

Please join MATA for an afternoon of sharing art directives, ideas, supplies and books! 

The intent of the Swap Meet is also to be able to share supplies that you may have too much of and pick up new supplies that you may not have access to, otherwise. In addition, there will be time for community art making and discussion.
MATA will provide light snacks, feel free to bring some to share as well!

St. Louis World's Fare - Message from MATA Community Art Chair Bren Elfgen

Hi All!

The St. Louis World's Fare is happening once again, this year the Fare will be located in the “World’s Fair Pavilion” area of Forest Park. The Fare is August 19th-21st see for details and map.

MATA will once again have a tent/booth at the Fare; we would LOVE to have members of MATA to participate in a community art making experience on Saturday, August 20th, 2-3 people per shift.
Bren is the Community Arts Chairperson and we have an “Election/Patriotic themed printmaking activity”. The Kid's Island area is open from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm on Saturday. We've broken down the times into four shifts, please sign up for a time that works out for you.

August 20th Saturday
9:30a.m. - 12:15 pm:
12:00pm - 2:45 pm:
2:30pm - 5:15pm:
